In Sophomore English students write, write, and then write some more. In the first block (semester) of this class students create a journal/notebook/diary (whatever they want to call it) by collecting their daily writing pieces into a self-published bound notebook.
In this class, students also practice writing the traditional four essays: Descriptive, Expository, Argumentative, and Narrative. Spelling and grammar is emphasized through the use of the Freerice website where students can learn new vocabulary and practice their grammar while earning grains of rice for charity. |
